Made in the UK
Our systems are designed and manufactured in the UK and our state of the art facilities mean we can work efficiently, keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible.
The use (and reuse) of sustainable materials
Our systems use PVC and aluminium, both considered sustainable materials thanks to their long lifespan and ability to be easily recycled. In fact, many of our products already contain an amount of recycled material and we’re working on ways to take this further. Epwin Group’s acquisition of leading UK materials re-processor, Poly-Pure, has bolstered our capabilities for reclaiming post-consumer and post-industrial PVC building materials, allowing us to increase the proportion of recycled material in our products. And we make it easy for customers to check the credentials of our systems as part of the VinylPlus® Product Label scheme, which identifies the most sustainable and high performance PVC-U products.
A++ energy efficiency
Our window and door systems help to build more environmentally-friendly homes, achieving A and A++ ratings for energy efficiency. We’re always looking for ways to enhance our offering – such as developing RCM thermal inserts, made from 100% recycled PVC-U and a cost-effective way to improve U-values.
This is the fourth year for which the Group is reporting carbon emissions data as required under the Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships Energy and Carbon Regulations 2018.
Emissions are calculated in accordance with the Green House Gas Protocol – the most widely recognised accounting and reporting standards for greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The Green House Gas Protocol uses carbon factors to convert energy use and purchased electricity to emissions of CO₂e and categorise GHG emission in 3 scopes.
Scope 1 emissions — This one covers the Greenhouse gases (GHGs) that a company owns and controls directly — for example company’s fleet of vehicles.
Scope 2 emissions — These are indirect emissions from purchase and use of energy – like the purchase of electricity for heating, cooling for the company’s buildings.
Scope 3 emissions — Are the result of all the other indirect emissions which contribute to the operation of the manufacturing, administration, storage and distribution activities. They do not include the other Scope 3 activities relating to the assets, procurement and upstream and downstream supply chain. These activities are only calculated at a Group Level.
With a track record stretching back nearly 50 years, we’re well-established in the industry. But we’ve kept moving forwards: listening, refining and innovating to create systems that lead the way in performance and lifespan.
That means understanding what matters to your customers and what makes a real difference to your business. We’ve developed ways to improve insulation for better energy efficiency. Incorporated greater security features, such as giving sashes more rigidity so they are less susceptible to manual attack.
Added deeper drainage channels to make windows more durable and reduce service call-outs. Honed every element of our systems so they are easy to fabricate.
It’s this attention to detail that’s brought a whole new level of technical innovation to the market.
We’ve designed our systems from the ground up so you can find the perfect solution for projects of all shapes and sizes.
With Epwin, you get so much more than our windows and doors. We’re here as a proactive partner, helping your business to grow with advice and opportunities.
