Epwin Window Systems launched its exclusive new range of composite door leaves at FIT this year. Sharn Samra, Epwin Windows Systems’ Marketing Director said: “The market for composite doors is continuing to grow and we want to offer our customers a one-stop shop for their window and door orders, which is exactly what this range of composite doors leaves helps to do.”
The solid timber core door leaves are manufactured in the UK and are available in prepped and un-prepped versions, so they provide a solution for every size of business. The door leaves come in 44mm and 48mm variations, are suitable for standard or low threshold doors and come fully edge banded. To make it easier than ever to offer a complete window and door solution, the door leaves fit perfectly into Profile 22’s CD70, universal composite door outer frame and Optima chamfered and sculptured systems, Spectus’ Elite 70 bevelled and ovolo systems and Swish’s 24/7 systems.
The range has been designed to offer everything a consumer is looking for in a composite door, including a ten-year guarantee for peace of mind. The range offers five different leaf styles and 20 design variations. There are ten different colours to choose from, each with a matching outer frame colour. The new and improved thermoplastic wood grain finish gives a more realistic effect while the COOLSKIN heat reflective technology stops the inner timber core expanding by deflecting the sun’s rays. It also offers superior scratch and abrasion resistance and exceptional weatherability, helping to keep doors in great condition for years to come. A dedicated keep and Yale and Lockmaster lock options mean security meets and exceeds current legislation, while U values of between 1.4 and 1.6 W/m2K means high thermal efficiency.
Sharn concludes: “Our composite door leaves attracted a great deal of attention at FIT thanks to its combination of beautiful aesthetics and technological sophistication. Together with its compatibility with our window profile systems it means it’s a very attractive product to add to a portfolio.”
