Epwin Window Systems’ new Stellar Aluminium Inline Sliding Door is setting a new benchmark in compliance, innovation and aesthetics. This is the view of Phil Parry, Technical Director at Epwin Window Systems who encourages fabricators to look beyond the headlines when it comes to identifying the standout qualities of aluminium sliding doors.
Phil explains: “Most aluminium sliding patio doors use a dummy sash to create the fixed pane. The Stellar Aluminium Inline Sliding Door is different because we have opted to remove the dummy sash on the fixed pane and utilise a direct glazed fixed light. It’s a technical innovation that makes a compelling difference. It not only enhances thermal efficiency but also ensures compliance with Building Regulations, including Part L, in both new build and extension projects.”
Phil continued: “Moreover, the removal of the dummy sash results in sleeker sightlines and an increased glazed area, further elevating the door’s slimline aesthetics and contemporary appeal, even in smaller apertures.”
As you would expect from an Epwin Window Systems’ designed product, fabrication and installation processes are streamlined with the Stellar Inline Sliding Door. By reducing the number of manufactured parts from three to two, it saves time, material costs and ultimately adds value to the bottom line. And like all products in the Stellar arsenal, installation is made effortless with patented knock-in glazing beads, ensuring a swift and neat finish.
Epwin Window Systems’ meticulous attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the Stellar Inline Sliding Door’s design. Phil said: “The 35mm slim interlock has been given a lot of consideration. Rather than the typical ‘wet glazed’ solutions, we opted for a simpler, cleaner dry glazed bonding solution which means that if the glass is ever damaged, it’s much more straightforward to replace than comparative door systems.”
Each sash can be up to 1675mm wide, so there are fewer sashes and wider glazed expanses. And because the outerframe seamlessly aligns with the sash, the door delivers a flush appearance that perfectly suites with other products in the Stellar Aluminium range. It’s available in 2, 3, and 4-pane configurations with a maximum total width of 6500mm, so it’s the solution for the largest of spaces.
Thermal efficiency is similarly impressive. Intelligently designed polyamide thermal breaks deliver a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K with 28mm double glazing and as low as 0.9 W/m²K with triple glazing. At the same time, effective seals and bespoke design features provide class-leading performance to BS 6375 standard.
Phil concludes; “The Stellar Aluminium Inline Sliding Door epitomises Epwin Window Systems’ commitment to design excellence. It represents a shift from superficial headlines to a deeper appreciation of what truly sets a product apart.”
